I am a PhD student working at the Ubiquitous Media Technology Lab (UMTL) / Innovative Retail Laboratory (IRL) led by Prof. Dr. Antonio Krüger within the Cognitive Assistants (COS) department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Saarbrücken, Germany.
In my research, I focus on multi-modal multi-sensory user interfaces for tasks inducing a high cognitive demand, in particular within the computer-assisted translation domain. Specifically, I explore methods to measure the currently perceived cognitive load (CL) using a variety of sensors, and investigate how the user interface can be adapted to reduce the CL.
